I’m so excited to share another studio newborn session is on the blog and this one was special for so many reasons.
The Horn family is one I have been capturing for years. Clara had her own newborn session done in my Franklin studio years ago. Seeing her back as a big sister brought tears to my eyes. Her interactions with her new baby brother Edward, who they call “Eddie” was the sweetest thing. As you can see, all she wanted to do was act goofy and in between smother Eddie in kisses and hugs.
During the session, Eddie stayed snuggled and content the entire time. His little smirks, baby coo’s, and soft head of hair melted my heart every time. I wrapped him in a soft shade of white so his features would really pop while keeping the scene soft. Creating contrast during a newborn session is my favorite. So when dad showed up in soft green, I knew white would compliment it perfectly. The ruffles from mom and Clara’s dresses added a kiss of dimension. I loved how it all came together.
Also what you can’t see was my excitement for this session because it was the first time I got to use my new Willow Canvas. I have always had pops of muted colors in my backdrops. But when getting this one, I wanted something neutral that reflected a lot of light.
It is such a joy to not only document families, but watching them grow in front of my eyes and camera. It makes it feel like my own personal family is expanding whenever a little one is welcomed. Cannot wait for the milestones to come for little Eddie and to watch his personality take shape even more and shine.
