What do you love most about the phase of life you are in with your kids? Is it snuggles before bedtime, tiny feet running all over the house, fingerprints on walls, or crayon artwork hanging all over?

This mama shared with me that she loved reading with her son and getting on the floor to play with him… So guess what we did for her in-home session?

The Pinkard family invited me to their home to capture some of their favorite things about this phase of life. They love watching their little boy explore and learn new things. I know all too well that at this age, it feels like your kids are changing every day. This mama wanted to remember his joy for things and being around his family. The Pinkard family wanted to capture their son’s laughs and smiles that steal daddy’s heart in this season of life. Capturing these sweet, quiet moments they spent together in their home was a joy!

It’s so important to me to get to know you and your family before taking any photos. I loved going into this Lived-In session knowing that I would focus on reading together and this family playing on the floor together. This is what this season of their life looks like every day in their home, and we wanted to capture that.

This session with the Pinkard family reminds me why at-home sessions are so beautiful. These sessions are what you make them to be! They are molded and shaped to your family story. Trust me – true freedom for your family session can be found within the walls of your home. I know I know, it may not seem this way at first! I bet I can guess why… You feel like your home is too messy, cluttered, or untidy – but what if I told you that kids, especially the little ones, tend to be more relaxed in their familiar environment. This makes it so much easier to capture their true personalities! Thus making your experience 10x better as well.
