Why hire a birth photographer?
There is nothing in the world like birth- nothing as painful, as emotional, as powerful, and as wonderful. At every birth, I am still amazed and in awe of what moms are capable of to bring life into this world. In the whirlwind of labor, it is so easy to forget details. I will be there to help you remember what it was like holding your partner’s hand while you labored and what it felt like when your baby was placed on your chest for the first time.
Will YOU RESPECT OUR privacy?
Absolutely! When I am at your birth, I will essentially be a fly on the wall, observing and documenting. I will try my best to let the experience still be between you and your partner. I will discuss with you ahead of time what your level of comfort is with nudity. If you wish to be more covered up during your birth, I will respect that and will try not so show that in the images.
I will never post or share any image without your permission as well.
Will YOU be available 24/7 around my due date?
I will be on call to you the 2 weeks before and after your due date, day or night. I will have my bags packed and ready to go once I get the call. I aim to arrive at the hospital around 6-7cm and will stay for up to 6 hours.
What kind of photos can I expect to see?
Your birth photos will be raw, emotional, and candid. I will not pose or give direction, but instead I will just capture the moment exactly as it is. You will receive images from labor, pushing, the birth itself, and post delivery (including weighing baby, footprints, first feeding, ect).
Are you familiar with birth and the rules/process?
Yes, I am! Not only have I birthed 2 little girls of my own, I am an Emergency Room nurse. I have assisted in my fair share of births from both the nursing bedside as well as from behind the camera. In fact, I worked at the very same hospital that I now photograph most births at. I do not get squeamish with blood/birth, and I know what to expect with the birthing process. Since each hospital and doctor is different, I do recommend you speak with your OB about birth photography to make sure they are okay with it.
There is no relationship in the world like that between a mother and her child. As a former nurse, I have worked in the hospital for many years. Not only am I comfortable with birth and hospital sessions, but newborn safety is my top priority with each and every birth session.

Lindsay is absolutely wonderful! She took photos of me with our littlest and made the whole experience so easy. She is extremely patient (we all know newborns are unpredictable) and makes you feel so comfortable. I will cherish these photos forever! Highly recommend hiring Lindsay!
